Accepting Applications

​Western Massachusetts ∙​High School Seniors 

In support of our national program Operation BigBookBag, the Lambda Beta Sigma alumnae chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. will be adopting a graduating high school senior who will be a first year college student during Fall 2023.
One student will be selected to receive a Dorm Essentials scholarship. Applications are now LIVE and will be accepted until April 24th, 2023. A selection will be made on National College Decision Day , May 1, 2023. 
Each applicant must submit a unique 30-second video telling your life story. Applicants can upload their video to this form via YouTube link or a video upload. ​
Applicant Qualifications:

  • Must be a resident of western Massachusetts 
  • Must be a graduating High School Senior (Class of 2023) in good academic standing (GPA 2.5 or Above)
  • Must be planning to commit to a 4-year institution (Fall 2023)
  • Must be planning to live on-campus
  • Must be planning to enroll in a college/university in Western Massachusetts​

About the Program: 
Operation BigBookBag | Is a program designed to address the needs, challenges and issues that face school-aged children who are educationally at-risk, in local homeless shelters and extended-care hospitals and facilities. Through this program, chapters and members collect and donate educational materials, equipment and school supplies.
Our goal is to:
  • Provide quick and easy access to reference materials and other studying aids and tools that will help students with educational endeavors.
  • Equip students with the means of completing their homework assignments in effort to keep them current and up to date.
  • Assist shelters, youth centers, schools and hospitals in their efforts to meet some of the educational needs of children and young adults housed at their facilities.
